For #MissionMonday learn about how ILC is empowering immigrants to live with confidence and free from fear by welcoming immigrants into our communities by providing high-quality legal services, education, and advocacy.

What We Do

It is vital that all individuals pursuing immigration relief have access to high-quality legal services, regardless of ability to pay.

ILC’s diverse team of experts assist with all forms of family and humanitarian-based immigration, but specialize in the most complex, time and resource-intensive cases.

Education is an important part of our mission, we strive to provide critical information and training regarding the complex and ever changing immigration legal landscape.

We provide educational presentations and trainings to service providers, churches, and community groups.

We advocate for just immigration laws at the local, state, and federal level for our immigrant communities.

In addition, we provide technical research and assistance for bills related to secondary education requirements and access to several key bills.

ILC's Advocacy Protects The Most Vulnerable

Empowering Immigrants To Live With Confidence And Free From Fear

In August 2020, our legislative priority bill LB 745 amended to LB 512 was signed into law by Governor Pete Ricketts. The bill brings uniformity to law enforcement’s receipt and processing of victims’ requests to certify certain crimes, including sexual assault and human trafficking. We are honored to have worked with Senators Carol Blood and Lou Ann Linehan, and the Women’s Fund of Omaha who introduced and championed this and other legislative relief for victims in Nebraska!

Because of ILC’s advocacy, a client of more than three years was able to apply for U visa status, and if the U visa application is approved this will provide the client with a pathway to citizenship.
