One Year Anniversary of War in Ukraine

Date

On February 24, 2022, Russia’s military launched an unprovoked, full-scale invasion of the sovereign nation of Ukraine, demolishing Ukraine’s schools, hospitals, and much of its civil infrastructure. One year later, there is no end in sight.

Over 700 Ukrainian refugees arrived to Nebraska in 2022 and we expect to receive hundreds of additional Ukrainian arrivals in 2023. Due to the rapid influx of arriving refugees, we acted fast to create programming staffed and run by Ukrainian community members who understand the unique needs, culture and language of Ukrainians arriving to our communities. We have provided services to over one hundred Ukrainians in Nebraska but there are several hundred more who urgently need our help.

There is no short road to peace and the demand for our services far outpaces our current capacity. We need your help.

Your donation today will support hiring additional staff from the Ukrainian refugee community to provide resettlement services, case management support, immigration legal services, and direct cash assistance for the families who need it most.

Together, we can stand with Ukrainians in Nebraska and those fighting for peace in Ukraine.
