New York Times: Unaccompanied Children and Child Labor Investigation

Date

This morning, the New York Times published a comprehensive investigation into child immigrants working in factories and other dangerous jobs across the United States. While Nebraska isn’t specifically mentioned, our state is no exception. Over the past two years, nearly 2,000 unaccompanied children have been placed with sponsors in Nebraska. Our specialized team of attorneys and social workers work with children every day who arrived in the US without a parent or guardian, including many who have been employed as children in violation of federal child labor laws. If you want to learn more, please call 402-884-0416. If you need to refer a child for legal or social work services, please call our hotline at 1-855-307-6730.
