Immigration Executive Orders: What We Know UPDATED

Today President Trump signed his earlier announced Executive Order to temporarily suspend certain immigration. The order specifically affects intending immigrants abroad, as it stands to block visas to lawful permanent residents for 60 days at a minimum. The Migration Policy Institute estimates that accounting for the exemptions it makes for certain immigrants, such as spouses of United States citizens, the new ban will impact around 52,000 within the current 60-day period.
