About Immigrant Legal Center

As the region’s largest nonprofit legal immigration services provider, Immigrant Legal Center serves an irreplaceable role in the communities we serve. We are unique in our ability to meet the ever-changing needs of immigrant communities because of our people, our partners, and the promise we make to every person we serve. We are also a refugee resettlement agency welcoming over 400 new neighbors to Nebraska last year.

What our clients say

Not only were you my attorney, you also checked up on me and made sure I was doing well. I got my car and license last year, and this year I got my apartment. All of this wouldn’t have been possible without your help.
Because of ILC, I was able to vote for the first time as a citizen. You gave me the courage to study and apply. I feel safer now that I am a citizen and I have more rights. Our vote matters, it is a beautiful thing to be able to vote.

As of October 1, 2022, Immigrant Legal Center (ILC) and Refugee Empowerment Center (REC) have officially merged under ILC leadership solidifying services and support for immigrants in our community.

Through this merger, we bring together a wealth of expertise, experience, and resources that allow our staff to provide a holistic blend of high-quality services to our newest friends and neighbors in Nebraska and southwest Iowa.

Clients and partners will continue to experience the high-quality immigration legal services and refugee resettlement services you have come to expect from ILC and REC, and our services and processes remain unchanged.
