Immigrant Legal Center Website Privacy Policy

The Immigrant Legal Center (ILC) values your support and is committed to protecting your privacy. The purpose of this statement is to share with you our policy concerning your privacy.

What information do we collect and how do we use it?

When you visit our website, we collect some non-identifying basic information. This includes total number of visitors, pages viewed, and other non-identifying information. We use this general information to improve our website and to make your experience as smooth as possible.

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for your personal information including name, address, daytime phone, and e-mail address so we can update you on our agency activities and immigration news. If you make a donation on our Donate page, Thank You! We ask for your credit card information to process your donation(s) and to verify credit card data through a secure financial partner.

Do we share your information?

We may share with third parties our total website statistics regarding donations and membership numbers. These statistics do not include any personally identifying information. The information given includes: total number of donors, total amount of donations for specific periods of time, and referring websites. General information of this kind helps us learn how to encourage fundraising relationships.

We use one or more third-party financial partners to process our credit card transactions. They receive the credit card number and other personal information of our donors only to verify credit card numbers and to process credit card transactions in a secure environment.

We occasionally hire consultants and other companies to provide limited services on our behalf. We only provide those companies the information they need to deliver the service, and prohibit them from using that information for any other purpose.

How can you protect your personal information?

If you wish to remain anonymous, but want to donate and receive a tax-deductible receipt, please contact our office to assist you. We respect your wish for privacy and have a specific method for handling anonymous donations.

You can also send totally anonymous donations simply by mailing a money order to us at the address found at the bottom of this section. However, if you do not provide your name and address we will not be able to send you a tax-deductible receipt.

If you would like to review your personal information and request corrections, please contact us using the contact information at the end of this section. We welcome your calls!

How do we provide a secure environment for online transactions?

Our online order processing system allows you to make safe donations and purchases. We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology to protect your information as it travels to our ordering system.

Our online credit card verification system is handled by a third party, which collects your name, address, phone, and credit card number and expiration date to process your transaction. Their encryption technology offers extremely high security. They also have state-of-the-art firewalls and other security technology in place to ensure the confidentiality of your transactions. We only use reputable third-party partners we can trust.
